Meet the board that governs Population Matters!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their responsibilities include developing and reviewing strategy; monitoring performance; setting values, policies, and standards; ensuring adherence to aims, good governance, proper risk management; and compliance with legal requirements and obligations to stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHAIR – Karin Kanewske Turner<\/h3>

Karin is a global health and development leader with over 25 years experience advancing public health impact across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.  
She began her career in rural Morocco and the Czech Republic, working alongside communities on education, environmental health and water access, and maternal and child health. She subsequently spent nearly two decades strengthening health systems across Africa with USAID, BroadReach, and the Aurum Institute. 
Karin currently serves as a senior business consultant and board advisor to NGOs, research partners, start-ups, and the Unitaid Board’s NGO Delegation; supporting strategic growth and locally led innovation. She holds a BSc in Molecular Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder, an MPH from Johns Hopkins, and an Executive MBA from the University of Edinburgh. 
Driven by the belief that reproductive choice is a fundamental lever for economic strength, women\u2019s empowerment, and environmental sustainability, Karin is committed to helping families thrive while reducing humanity’s collective footprint. Based between the UK and South Africa, she is passionate about fostering inclusive organisational cultures and sustainable approaches to health and development.

Lisa Mitchell<\/h3>

Lisa is a qualified accountant and managing director with responsibility for finance and operations at a niche consultancy business. She has previously been a non-executive director in the charity sector and has led finance operations teams for over 20 years in professional services firms, PWC and Arthur Andersen.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Iain Heaton<\/h3>

Iain is a qualified accountant. He spent the first nine years of his career working at Deloitte. He then moved into the charity sector and currently is Deputy CEO & CFO for Blue Cross, the animal welfare charity. Before going into finance he studied biology at Imperial college and is passionate about the natural world and the need for people to find a sustainable way of living alongside all the other species on earth.

Simon Moore<\/h3>

Simon is passionate about communications for social change. Over the past 20 years he has worked with organisations focused on HIV, sexual health, and wider global health; conflict prevention, peace-building and democracy; and broader international development issues. He also has experience as a strategic communications consultant for a range of third sector organisations. Simon has a MSc in Behaviour Change and an MA in International Policy and Diplomacy.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Vicky Poll<\/h3>

Vicky has always been passionate about creating environments for life to thrive and studied genetics at UCL to better understand our foundations and the interplay between nature and nurture. Since then, her career has been focussed on people and organisation development (OD), with roles in talent, learning and OD across a number of different sectors including not for profit, defence, energy and healthcare. She’s always loved the outdoor environment and is an enthusiastic gardener, as well as a keen sailor, climber, skier and walker.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Stacy N. Taylor<\/h3>

Stacy is the Director of Income for Global Canopy. Over her 25-year career, she has worked with organisations focussed on addressing the climate crisis, protecting human rights, improving health, and championing animal welfare. Stacy’s dedication to these causes includes senior development roles at Founders Pledge, World Animal Protection, Global Witness, Physicians for Human Rights, and The Carter Center.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Anup Tiwari<\/h3>

Anup is the Chief Community Health Officer at DocOnline Consulting, an Indo-Swedish digital health organisation. With over two decades in the development sector, Anup has extensive experience in collaborating with stakeholders in retail, institutions, CSR, HNIs, and multi & bi-lateral agencies. His expertise spans healthcare, livelihood, education, early childhood development, and disaster response. Anup previously led Fund Development & Communications at SOS Children’s Villages International, overseeing the 15 countries in Asia region. He also served on SOS Children\u2019s Villages boards in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, and Sri Lanka. Anup honed his skills at HelpAge, Charities Aid Foundation, and CRY-Child Rights & You before taking pivotal roles at UNICEF in Indonesia and India and ActionAid Indonesia. Beginning with marketing divisions at Macmillan and Reed Elsevier, Anup holds an MBA and a diploma in Public Relations from the London School of PR.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
